Ojon® oil is still harvested and extracted by the Tawira as it has been for centuries. From Central America it travels to a small village in Northern Italy where the oil is filtered and purified in order to preserve its potency.

Because of the purity of our Ojon® oil and the traditional methods used by the Tawira to extract it, slight variations in color, texture and scent are not uncommon between harvests. The results, however, are always the same. These variations also occur as each of the Tawira's four sub-tribes harvests and processes its own oil from a different region of the rainforest.

Preserving tradition
Each step in harvesting and extracting the oil is completed by hand by the Tawira using traditional methods. It is a lengthy and time-consuming process - one we haven't changed at all. In one year, a single Ojon tree produces approximately 8,000 nuts, enough to supply just 3 cups of pure Ojon® oil. The Ojon tree is found only in this part of the world. And because of our exclusive arrangement with the native Tawira, Ojon® haircare products are the only source of this precious ingredient in the world.

At Ojon Corp. we are committed to providing our customers with an absolutely pure haircare product that is unparalleled in quality and results, while helping to sustain one of the world's most valuable natural and cultural treasures. Your purchase allows the Tawira to preserve their way of life and their precious rainforests for the benefit of us all. When we began our partnership with the Tawira, we employed 200 local producers. There are now thousands of Tawira producers with full-time jobs. Scholarship funds, safety standards and rainforest preservation measures have also been put into place.
